I recently used 2 of these on a 33degree C day hiking in the Flinders Ranges, South Australia. They were much easier to use than a bladder. I could get a good deep drink without getting out of breath. And it was just as convenient. I carried 1.2 lites or 1.2 kg of water displaced from my back pack to my front where I did not notice it at all. I set them high so that they would not rub my arms. To do this I needed 4 clips but only 2 clips were provided. Well thought out Mathew Tim Eisemann on 26th Sep 2017
I got tired sucking on a bladder and when I saw a hiker with one of these bottle holders on his shoulder strap I decided to give it a try. Work very well although they flop from side to side when you walk. That is why I only rated 4 stars. I used a safety pin on each side and the flop disappeared. The bottle holders are perfect for .5 liter bottles. I am going to buy 2 more for another pack. Ditch the bladder and get a couple of these. Greg on 5th Sep 2016
These worked well on my six moons fusion 65. They are remarkably wiggle free when you walk, and you can turn your head without bumping into them.
When putting the pack on, loosen the shoulder straps quite a bit, especially for the second arm, so the bottle faces the right way out and the strap does not twist.

I purchased two of these bottle holders along with my Aquilo pack. Full disclosure, I didn't use them on my shoulder straps but instead attached them to a chest pack that I use when on the move. That being said, I carried both a .75L Smart bottle in one, and a Sigg bottle in the other. Both fit perfectly - no extra slop in the fit but at the same time, still easy to retrieve for use without a bunch of tugging or pulling - slid in, slid out, just as it should be.
I say "and then some" because what I really found handy was the small mesh pocket on the front - loaded up with two bottles of water and a couple of power bars in the pockets I was ready to keep moving on the trail - everything I needed right where I wanted it.
Perfect. Scott on 24th Apr 2016
